What we do with your details.
The reservation form asks for four things. This page says exactly what happens to each of them, who else ever sees them, and how to get the lot deleted.
The short version: we keep your reservation on one spreadsheet, we use it to hold your place and to work out where a club would actually serve people, and we have never sold or shared any of it for advertising. Reply to any email from us and it is gone.
Who is asking
El Padel Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17346510. We are the data controller for everything described here. Our registered office is on the public register at Companies House.
Everything on this page is handled by us directly — there is no agency, no CRM and no third-party marketing platform in between. To ask anything, or to exercise any of the rights further down, email soul@elpadel.uk.
What the form collects
Four fields, one of them optional:
| Field | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Name | To hold a named place, and to address you as a person rather than a row. |
| The only way we contact you. It is also how you withdraw — a reply is enough. | |
| Postcode | This is the one that does real work. We do not have a building yet, and where the Founding fifty actually live is the strongest evidence we have about where to put one. |
| Phone (optional) | Only to reach you about your place if email fails. Leave it blank and nothing changes. |
What we record alongside it
Pressing the button writes one row. Besides the four fields, that row holds:
- The tier you picked and the fact that it is a Founding reservation. You are not committed to the tier — you choose at opening — but which one people lean towards is how the tiers get set.
- The moment you signed, and the exact wording you agreed to. Stored verbatim, so what we have on record is the sentence that was on your screen and not a later rewrite of it.
- Your own referral link code — six random characters. It is generated from nothing about you, because a share link gets forwarded into group chats and a code built from a name or an email would be your detail travelling somewhere you did not send it.
- The code of whoever referred you, if you arrived on a friend's link. This is the only way the free-session offer can be honoured for both of you.
- How you reached the site: the page you came from, any campaign tag on the link you clicked, and the time you landed.
Our lawful bases
Your reservation — consent
You typed four fields and pressed a button that said it was your signature. That is consent, and consent you give is consent you can take back: see how to withdraw. Nothing is conditional on it — withdrawing costs you nothing because you were never charged anything.
How you reached the site — legitimate interests
Knowing that a reservation came from, say, a local listing rather than a paid post is how a club with no building yet avoids wasting the money it does not have. We have weighed that against your interests and kept it narrow: it is never combined with anything bought in, never used to build a profile of you, never used to decide anything about you, and never shared. If you would rather we did not hold it, say so and we will clear those columns on your row and keep the reservation.
Who else sees it
Three companies touch this, and only in the ways described:
The form posts to a Google Apps Script, which writes your row to a Google Sheet that only we can open. Google processes it on our instructions as our processor, which can mean it is stored or handled outside the UK under the safeguards Google provides for business customers. No Google Analytics, no advertising tags, nothing that follows you afterwards.
Netlify
Our host. Serving you this page means their servers briefly see the request, including your IP address, as any web host does. They do not get your reservation.
And one that used to be here. The two typefaces on this site were loading from Google's font servers, which meant every page view handed your IP address to Google whether or not you filled anything in. They are now served from this domain. Nothing your browser fetches while reading this page goes anywhere except to us and our host.
WhatsApp and Instagram are linked from this site and are not given anything by it. You only reach them by choosing to, and what happens after that is between you and them.
Cookies
There are none. This site sets no cookies and writes nothing into your browser's storage — which is why you have not been shown a consent banner. A banner that asks permission for nothing is theatre, and the honest version of it is this paragraph.
How long we keep it
- While your reservation stands, we keep the row. A Founding place is a promise with no end date on it, so holding the record is the only way to honour it.
- If you withdraw, we delete the row. Not flagged, not archived — removed.
- If the club does not happen, there is nothing left to hold a place for. We will tell everyone on the list, and delete the whole sheet within three months of saying so.
- The attribution columns — how you reached the site — are cleared two years after you reserved. By then they have told us whatever they were going to.
How to withdraw, and your other rights
To withdraw: reply to any email we have ever sent you and say so. That is the whole route, and it is deliberately the easiest thing on this page — no form, no account, no link to hunt for. If you have not had an email from us yet, write to soul@elpadel.uk from the address you signed up with.
Under UK data protection law you can also ask us to:
- Show you everything we hold about you, as a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong — a mistyped postcode, a changed surname.
- Delete it, which is the same thing as withdrawing.
- Restrict what we do with it while a question about it is unresolved.
- Object to the attribution columns, which rest on legitimate interests rather than consent.
- Hand it over in a portable form, to you or to someone you name.
We answer within one month and we do not charge for it. Nothing here is decided about you automatically, and there is no profiling.
If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, but it is your right either way and not conditional on asking us.
Children
The Founding reservation is for adults. We do not knowingly take one from anyone under 18, and if we find we have, we delete it. Junior membership will exist when the club does, and it will have its own notice written for it.
Changes to this notice
If what we do changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Anything that materially affects a reservation already made gets an email as well — we are not going to alter a promise quietly on a page you have no reason to revisit.
One thing this page cannot tell you yet: where the club will be. We genuinely do not know, and your postcode is part of how that gets decided. The same answer on the homepage sits with the other nine questions people ask.
Fifty Founding places, free to reserve.
